Dog Mats That Go Where Your Dog Goes
Dogs sleep up to 18 hours a day. Puppies and senior dogs even more. But only a fraction of that is deep, restorative sleep, and where they sleep makes a real difference to how well they actually recover. The right dog mat gives your dog a surface that supports their body, fits their sleep style, and works wherever their day takes them.
Dog Mat or Dog Bed: What's the Difference?
Dog beds and dog mats serve different purposes, and the right choice depends on your dog and your lifestyle.
Dog Mats: The Flexible Option
A dog mat is flat, lightweight, and easy to move around. No raised edges, no fixed position, just a consistent, comfortable surface your dog can settle onto anywhere. Ideal for dogs that like to stretch out fully, change spots frequently, or need a familiar surface on the go, whether that's the car, a restaurant, a friend's house, or a hotel room. All three SABRO mats work as standalone comfort surfaces and as inserts inside the KUDDE Dog Bed.
Dog Beds: The Structured Option
A dog bed offers a defined space with raised edges for dogs that like to lean, curl up against something, or feel enclosed. The KUDDE Dog Bed is the orthopedic foundation, and the mats in this collection are designed to layer right into it for an upgraded sleep setup. Use a HYGGE PAD or MJUCK as a comfort insert on top of the KUDDE foam core, or add the MUMIN Insert for full memory foam support underneath.
Which Mat Is Right for Your Dog
MUMIN Insert: For Dogs That Need Real Joint Support
The MUMIN Insert is the most supportive option in the lineup. A three-layer system built around an open-cell memory foam core that responds to your dog's body heat, contouring precisely to relieve pressure at the hips, shoulders, and elbows. It's the go-to for senior dogs, large breeds, and dogs managing arthritis, hip dysplasia, or spondylosis. The moisture-resistant inner liner keeps the foam clean and hygienic, and the outer cover is machine washable. The foam is guaranteed to hold its orthopedic shape for up to 10 years.
MJUCK Comfort Mat: For Everyday Coziness
The MJUCK is the everyday comfort layer. Wide-rib corduroy on the outside, plush fill inside, sized to fit perfectly inside any KUDDE bed. It adds a noticeable step up in softness without adding bulk, and it's easy to take anywhere your dog does. Pet hair vacuums off in seconds, and the whole cover goes straight in the washing machine when needed. A simple, versatile mat that earns its place in any dog's routine.
HYGGE PAD: For Travel, Crates, and On-the-Go Comfort
The HYGGE PAD brings warmth and familiarity wherever your dog needs it. The vegan faux fur top layer traps body heat naturally, the fleece filling adds cushioning underneath, and the non-slip base keeps it in place on hardwood, tile, and car seats alike. It fits standard travel crates, drops right into the KUDDE as a comfort layer, and rolls up small enough to pack into a bag. Lightweight, washable, and one of the most versatile things in this collection.
What to Look for When Choosing a Dog Mat
Size comes first. Measure your dog from nose to the base of the tail while stretched out on their side, then choose a mat long enough for full extension. Orthopedic support only works when your dog can actually lie flat. Beyond size, look for removable, washable covers for easy maintenance, hypoallergenic materials certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and foam or fill that holds its shape through daily use rather than compressing flat within a few months.
Cleaning and Care
All three mats have removable covers designed for regular washing. The HYGGE PAD washes on a gentle cycle at up to 104°F (40°C) and air dries flat. The MJUCK cover washes at 104°F and is dryer safe on low. The MUMIN Insert outer cover washes at 104°F on low heat. Foam cores should never be submerged in water. If they get damp, air dry completely before use. For day-to-day upkeep, a quick vacuum handles most pet hair and surface dirt between washes.
